On the 31st of July 2023, Footprint to Freedom marked the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons with survivor experts from across Africa in an insightful panel discussion named “The African Survivor’s Approach: reach every victim of trafficking, leave no one behind”.
The webinar sought to illuminate the importance of survivor leadership, particularly their role in identifying victims and providing support for survivors including psychological, economic restoration and access to justice. It also aimed to shed light on survivor engagement, as well as on the need to address the emerging trends exacerbated by the post COVID era.
This webinar was also a launch of the African Survivor Coalition (ASC), an initiative of Footprint to Freedom aimed at amplifying survivor voices, supporting anti-human-trafficking efforts, and bridging the gap between survivor experiences and policy development. Click here to watch webinar.
